Many different things affect the academic performance of students. One that is sometimes overlooked is poverty. Do you know the effects of poverty on your classroom? Poverty impacts a student’s intelligence and achievement. In this 3-hour course led by Dr. Joyce Juntune, a nationally renowned consultant, educators will learn about how to serve gifted students raised in poverty. Educators will walk away with knowledge about verbal gaps, complex language skills, and strategies for supporting students in poverty.
Note: This course is part II in the series “Serving Gifted Students from Poverty”. We highly recommend taking Part I “Closing the Achievement Gap for Students Raised in Poverty” first.
